It's that time of year again! Spooky season is upon us and that means participating in all the activities that make fall fun. Fortunately, that doesn't have to mean leaving your cat behind in the process! There are plenty of cat-friendly fall activities that you and your favorite feline can do together.

Fall Feline Field Trips

Fall foliage hikes, pumpkin picking, apple picking, and corn mazes are just a number of the iconic fall activities that your cat can tag along to. With safety in mind, fit them with a kitty harness and leash or into a cat backpack so they can join you in a more controlled manner. Getting some fresh air and taking in all the sights and smells of autumn is a relaxing way for you both to celebrate the season.

Kitty Couples-Costumes

Your cat is the purrfect partner for a couple's costume. Not only because they are adorable as all get out, but because they'll agree with just about any outlandish costume idea you come up with. There are a number of iconic couple's costumes that you and your cat can dress up as, including, but not limited to, you as a "Cat Burglar" and your cat as a bag of money, you as a cat and your cat as a mouse, or you as a mummy and your cat as the Egyptian goddess, Bastet.

If your cat isn't too keen on dressing up, not to worry! There are a number of costumes that you can wear, and your cat will be a key part of, without requiring them to dress up at all. Some great costumes that require a cat to really tie them together include, you as a Sanderson Sister and your cat as Thackery Binx (best for black cats), you as Dr. Evil and your cat as Mr. Bigglesworth (best for Sphynx cats), or you as Alice in Wonderland and your cat as the Cheshire Cat (best for striped cats). You two will be the envy of the costume contest with any of these eerie ensembles!

Cat-Starring Halloween Cinema

Scary movie nights are one of the best ways to spend a spooky fall evening at home. Snuggle up with your cat to watch any of these great Halloween movies where cats take center-stage.

Hocus Pocus - Thackery Binx is a witty (and immortal) black cat who patrols the Sanderson Sister's home every Halloween night for over 300 years. He stands guard to ensure the Black Flame Candle is never lit, which would bring the sisters back from the dead. He is successful until a skeptical kid who is new to Salem shakes things up one Halloween night. Your cat can definitely relate to this plot, seeing as humans always seem to ruin everything.
Scooby Doo on Zombie Island - In this animated classic, Scooby Doo and the the Mystery Gang take a trip to Moonscar Island to investigate reports of zombies. It is not long before they realize that Zombies are the least of their worries, because immoral cat creatures are who really rule this island. Your cat already runs your home, so, they will definitely be on board with a movie where cats have domain over an entire island.
Pet Sematary- In true Stephen King fashion, Pet Sematary is down right creepy. Despite warnings of the ground being "sour," a father tries to console his grieving daughter by burying her beloved cat, Church, on an ancient Miꞌkmaq burial ground. Although Church comes back from the grave, things aren't quite the same. Spoiler alert, it only goes further down hill from there! Spook the living daylights out of you and your cat by watching this creepy classic.

Fall-Favorite Feline Treats

What's a spooky movie night without good food? While baking yourself some pumpkin muffins or spookily-shaped cookies, drum up some fall-themed goodies for your cat as well! There are a number of tantalizing treats that you can bake for your cat, which incorporate some classic fall flavors. Try making some spooky pumpkin salmon biscuits, eerie egg muffins, or ghoulish eyeball cake pops. You can find the recipes, here! If pumpkin is more tantalizing to your cat's taste buds, then you can find the recipes for these pumpkin under the sea balls, pumpkin pie treats, and tuna pumpkin biscotti's, here! You will be your cat's biggest fan if you make them any of these spooky and equally tasty treats to snack on.

Kitty-Inspired Pumpkin Carving

We know you admire your cat, but now is your chance to really make them your muse! Your cat is the purrfect subject for a pumpkin carving masterpiece this Halloween. Simply print out a photo of your cat that is an appropriate size for the pumpkin of your choosing, and get to carving! Not to worry if your slicing skills are sub-par, your cat won't judge! Well... they might judge. But only a little bit.

No matter how you choose to celebrate spooky season, just don't forget to include your feline friends in on the fun! You'll be glad you did.
