Calling all innovators, dreamers, and animal enthusiasts! Jolly Pets and Horsemen's Pride are excited to announce the incredible results of this year’s Product Innovation Contest, where we called upon the bright minds of 4-H members to imagine the next big thing in dog and equine products. This unique competition not only highlighted the passion and creativity of young innovators but also offered a chance to win a $1,500 scholarship and bring their ideas to life!
The competition encouraged 4-H members to submit original product ideas designed to improve the lives of pets and equines. Submissions were judged based on their creativity, functionality, and the way they addressed specific needs in animal care or enrichment. Participants were invited to include sketches to illustrate their vision.
This year, the judges were blown away by the innovative spirit of the participants, and one idea stood out above the rest: Laila Nally’s Carrot Comfort Binky!
Laila’s concept is a game-changer for horse owners and trainers alike. The Carrot Comfort Binky is a versatile tool designed for horse training and enrichment. It can be hung in a stall to keep horses engaged and entertained, making it an excellent addition to any equine care routine. Her submission not only showcased her creative flair but also demonstrated a deep understanding of equine behavior and needs.
As the grand prize winner, Laila was awarded a $1,500 scholarship to support her future endeavors. But that’s not all! Laila also had the rare opportunity to step into the shoes of a product designer with a behind-the-scenes trip to the Jolly Pets and Horsemen’s Pride manufacturing facility.
During her visit, Laila collaborated with the product development team, selected custom colors, and created her very own Jolly Soccer Ball, a signature product of Jolly Pets. To make her experience even sweeter, she went on an exciting Jolly shopping spree, filling up a box with her favorite products from Jolly Pets and Horsemen’s Pride—a dream come true for any animal lover!
Laila’s journey from idea to reality is proof that creativity, passion, and innovation can lead to incredible opportunities. We can’t wait to see what the next generation of 4-H innovators will dream up!
